The Final Qually

It was here, the first day of the final rounds of the 2011 Clio Cup championship.

I knew qualifying was going to be tough. With so many title protagonists and the GP circuit being super ballsy I had a lot of work to do. The new tyres made the car so pointy as well, it would easily snap on you if you gave it too much steering lock, a slight worry of mine. However, I went out straight away on new tyres and posted some decent lap times, putting me in 5th for the time being.

My second set of tyres then became even more pointy, or so it felt, and I posted two faster times which put me 7th and 9th on the grids, just 3 tenths off poleman Paul Rivett. I was very happy with this achievement bearing in mind Friday was the first time I had sat in the race car around the track, and it gave me the inside line for both races.
