SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS HOSTS ROUND 3 OF TCR EUROPE

Josh Files and his team Target Competition will tackle the legendary circuit de Spa-Francorchamps this weekened for the third round of the 2019 TCR Europe season. The championship leaders look set to have a difficult weekend ahead allied to the success of the previous rounds and the additional weight they will therefore be carrying.

At the previous round in Hockenheimring just two weeks ago Files managed to take pole position and completed the job by taking his first win of the season in race 1. On the reverse grid race 2, Files fought through to take 8th place at the flag and with it the championship lead.

Looking ahead to the Spa weekend the 28-year-old Brit will be seeking more wins and podiums at a track that many drivers acclaim to be one of the best in the world.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend!” Expressed Files. “Last year didn’t quite go to plan, as when I was running in second place and looking for the win I had a mechanical issue meaning a DNF. So I have some unfinished business here and it’s a track that I absolutely love, like many I’m sure.” “We as a team are under no illusions this weekend. It won’t be easy as everyone else seems to be getting lighter and lighter. Having said that, I’m fully focussed, fully prepared and I’m sure we can still fight for podiums. One thing I always promise is that I’ll give it my all no matter what!”

Free practice one and two kick off on Friday morning and afternoon as usual. The all-important qualifying session is first thing Saturday morning with race 1, broadcast live on terrestrial TV and live streamed, taking place at 13.50 CET on Saturday afternoon. Race 2 will finish the weekend off at Midday CET Sunday.
