Files set to contest in Renault UK Clio Cup and Eurocup Clio Championship in 2013

AirAsia Renault UK Clio Cup front-runner Josh Files will return to Britain’s premier one-make saloon car championship for a third assault on the title in 2013, whilst also announcing his intention to compete in the Eurocup Clio Championship with Team Pyro.

Files, who concluded the 2012 season in sixth position, snatched four pole positions and one lap record at Silverstone National Circuit, during his second campaign in the championship renowned for propelling the careers of British Touring Car Championship driver’s Tom Onslow-Cole, Dave Newsham, and Aron Smith.

Whilst challenging for the Renault UK Clio Cup will remain a priority in 2013, Files will be introduced to the European racing scene as part of a two-car Team Pyro effort that will visit no less than six different venues throughout the duration of the season.

Delighted that he has been able to confirm his plans for 2013 so quickly, Files remains confident that he can impress on both platforms during the coming season.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic that I have been able to raise the budget to confirm my activity in the Renault UK Clio Cup and Eurocup Clio Championship for 2013,” said Files.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank my sponsors for their continued support, I learnt a lot from last year, and I’m sure that I will be able to come back stronger in 2013.”
