FILES READY TO FIGHT IN FRANCE FOR THE FIRST ROUND OF TCR EUROPE

Reigning double TCR Germany champion Josh Files will take to the circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France for the first round of the 7 event TCR Europe championship this weekend 5-6 May.

Files became the JAS Motorsport official test driver for the development of the new FK8 Honda Civic Type R TCR car during the winter months.

TCR Europe is a new full season championship for the first time in 2018 and Files will contest the series in the new Honda Civic with Asian giants KC Motorgroup (KCMG). KCMG have won le mans in the LMP2 class and are a high profile Asian GT Team looking to make an impact in Europe for the first time, with Files picked to take up the challenge with them. The car’s livery takes on board title sponsor HELL Energy drinks, with the team name known officially as HELL ENERGY racing powered by KCMG.

PROFI-CAR, a leading lubricants and oil company in Germany continues their support of Files for a second year and a new personal sponsorship deal being signed with AirWalk Consulting, a UK based consultancy agency, for the 2018 season ahead.

“It’s great to have AirWalk Consulting join me for what could be the best season yet and to renew my relationship with Profi-Car is also terrific. I’m very happy and proud to represent them both this year” Files said

“It’s been a very long winter, but all the tools are in place for the job. I have the support of JAS motorsport, who are the constructor of the new Honda Civic Type R TCR car that I will drive this year. In my new role of official test driver, I’ve had plenty of mileage developing the new car so we go to Paul Ricard with high hopes of strong results this weekend”

The TCR Europe series consists of two free practice sessions on Friday, with Qualifying and Race 1 Saturday, followed by Race 2 on Sunday. Both races are broadcast live on Motorsport.tv channel as well as local TV and a live stream online.

“It’s a new team, a new car, a new championship and a new year. There are a lot of talented drivers, the cars are closer than ever and I just can’t wait to get started.”

Files will take to the circuit for the first Free Practice session Friday 4thMay at 12.04pm CET.
