Files ready to fly at Donington

Norwich’s Josh Files will resume his AirAsia Renault Clio Cup campaign at Leicestershire’s Donington Park circuit this weekend for rounds 3 & 4 of Britain’s premier one-make saloon car championship.

The driver, backed as part of Direct Debit’s Big Break campaign, dominated the proceedings in qualifying two weeks prior at Kent’s Brands Hatch Indy circuit, but was unable to translate the feat into two victories, claiming a second and fourth respectively.

Files, who finds himself in a championship tussle just 10 points adrift of Team Pyro team mate Jack Goff, will be hoping for a strong showing at the East Midlands circuit to reinforce his position in the title race.

“I’m feeling really good about Donington Park this weekend,” explained Files. “I did some historic racing at the track last weekend and also had a very insightful session at IZONE Driver Performance with three-time World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx, who has been in exactly the same position that I am in now.”

“We definitively have the package to go there and pick up where we left off at Brands Hatch in qualifying, I’m determined to turn those pole positions into two victories this time.”

Qualifying for the 2012 AirAsia Renault Clio Cup will commence on Saturday, 14th April at 11:50, with rounds three and four on Sunday, 15th April, at 9:20 and 15:00.
