Josh Files 2016 ADAC TCR Champion!

Files Wins TCR Germany Title In Style With A Win At Hockenheim

British rising star Josh Files clinched the TCR Germany title after another win from Pole Position at Hockenheim over the weekend.

The Team Target driver was in scintillating form all weekend getting the job done in style. The weekend's second race didn't quite go to plan after a clash at turn one caused a puncture which led to his retirement from the final race of the year.

Josh went on to say "It is such a good feeling for everyone involved. Race one was tricky as it started raining just before our race and the circuit was damp with us on slicks.I got a really good start but my team mate made a better one but he gave me some room which was nice of him. The car was unbelievable and we were doing times almost as quick as in qualifying. For that reason I was able to pull away and I don't want to say that it was easy but it kind of was! To win the championship by winning the race is the best feeling you can have and I was a complete cry baby and I had tears coming down my face with two laps to go.

Race two I got an amazing start and was up to 5th by turn one. My two team mates were on the inside of me and made contact with each other and it sent one of them into me so I never made it past turn one which is a bit dissapointing but that's racing."

Nevertheless it was smiles all round for Files who hopes to remain with the Target squad and Honda in 2017 both in Germany and in the TCR International series.
