FILES READY TO BOUNCE BACK IN HUNGARY FOR ROUND 4 OF TCR EUROPE

Hungaroring circuit in Budapest marks the halfway point of the TCR Europe season, and HELL Energy Racing by KCMG’s home race. After a disappointing Spa-Francorhamps outing Files has declared he’s ready to fight back and will be on full attack for the weekend ahead.

“Spa is done, Hungary is upon us and I’m looking forward to it. The car has lost a little bit of weight, we know the Honda will be strong there, and its HELL Energy drink’s home race so it is a big weekend for all of us. I’m under no illusions, we have a lot of ground to make up, so it’s a case of maximum attack race by race from now on.”

The 27-year-old Britain currently lies 5th overall in the championship standings, and despite a strong showing in Spa, contact in race 1 and a technical issue in race 2 meant Files had 2 DNF’s for the first time in 3 seasons.

“It will be my first time in Hungary ever, my first time at the circuit so it’s a new challenge, and the first circuit this year I have to learn completely from scratch. The good thing is, the team have already been there earlier this year with Attila for WTCR so we will have a good base setup and data for me to work from, and I’m sure Attila will be happy to help me learn faster too” Explained Files.

“From what I’ve seen of the circuit it looks really technical but also quite fast with long corners, which should suit my driving style and our Honda well. I have to also add a big thank you for some extra support from one of my sponsors AirWalk and my continued support from Profi-Car and JAS Motorsport. This weekend I’m pushing for all of us!”

Files will hit the track in his JAS Motorsport built Honda Civic Type R on Friday both free practice sessions, with the usual 2 part qualifying this time Saturday morning.

Race 1 will be shown on local television live at 13.40 CET as well as the usual live stream, with race 2 also live on Sunday morning at 11.50 CET.
