JOSH FILES AND TCR EUROPE HEADS TO ASSEN FOR ROUND 5 OF THE SEASON

27 year old British racer Josh Files heads to Assen Circuit, The Netherlands, on the back of a strong showing in Hungary where he secured another podium finish this season. Currently lying 4th in the drivers standings the double TCR Germany champion hopes to keep the momentum flowing as the season resumes after the summer break.

“We’ve had great pace all year so far. Wherever we’ve been, I’ve always been able to get the car into the podium positions on track, even when the BOP has gone against us!” Exclaimed Files. “Honestly, lady luck has avoided us slightly this year, but that's motorsport for you, you can’t win them all. That doesn’t mean you should count us out just yet!”

“We’ve had a win in Zandvoort, been on for a win in Spa, been on for a win in Hungary and then finally secured a podium place when the luck finally turned. The momentum is with us now, and Assen I’m sure will be a strong track for the Honda Civic TCR car. I’ve worked through a plan and strategy with my engineer Nicola and we are quietly confident of the weekend ahead”

“It’s simple really. Everyone ahead of us is now thinking about the championship, so hopefully they will trip over each other. I just want to win races, so I can afford to take the risks. They can’t! They are a long way ahead, but again this is motorsport and anything can happen.”

The AirWalk and Profi-Car backed driver is heading into the weekend 44 points behind the championship lead with 165 still available. The HELL Energy racing by KCMG team currently sits 4th in the teams standings. “It’s maximum attack for the rest of the season now and I can’t wait!”
