Files looks for strong conclusion to Clio Cup campaign in season finale

Team Pyro’s Josh Files heads to the world-renowned Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this weekend (20/21 October), in search of a positive conclusion to his 2012 campaign in rounds 15 & 16 the 2012 AirAsia Renault Clio Cup.

The driver, backed as part of Direct Debit’s Big Break Campaign, currently finds himself placed sixth in the championship standings for Britain’s premier one-make saloon car championship, after a difficult outing at Silverstone saw him exit the weekend with a sixth and tenth place finish.

Files, a proven front-runner in the championship renowned for propelling the careers of Mat Jackson, Tom Onslow-Cole and Dave Newsham, will be buoyed ahead of his return to the Kent circuit this weekend, after a dominant qualifying display earlier in the year saw Norwich based driver snatch a double pole position on the Indy circuit layout.

“I’m feeling very confident ahead of the weekend, we have a different approach and I’m feeling really good ahead of the season finale,” explained Files.

“We were very quick here last year and a lot of hard work has been done in preparation for this weekend. Hopefully we will be able to end the season on a high here, I’d really like to gain my first double podium.”

Round 15 of the AirAsia Renault Clio Cup will get underway on Saturday, 20th October, at 17:15, with round 16 at 14:37 on Sunday, 21st October. Live coverage of the ultra-competitive one-make series can be seen on ITV4 and ITV4 HD.
