JAS Motorsport official driver Josh Files will embark on his and his HELL Energy Racing by KCMG teams final event of the season to be held at the beautiful Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain.
Off of the back of 2 podium finishes in Monza last time out Files currently sits 6thin the drivers’ standings with a mathematical chance of clinching the title come Sunday, however he would need a perfect weekend with disaster striking the current leaders.
More realistically though, the KCMG team are just 7 points shy of current championship leaders Target Competition in the teams’ standings, with a total of 95 points still to play for.
“I need a meteorite to fall out of the sky to win the drivers title” Laughed Files “But me and Attila have been working really well together and we’ve pulled ourselves up into a fighting position for the teams’ championship, so naturally this is now the aim!”
“Like always it won’t be easy, and there are lots of new drivers coming into the weekend, so I sincerely hope they won’t get in the way of the fights! We have found a bit of a sweet spot with the car recently, so if we can keep the momentum up I see no reason why we can’t lift the teams’ trophy on Sunday. It would be an amazing achievement!”
“We are fortunate enough to also have a 3rd car this weekend with my old championship rival, who is also backed by Profi-Car, Mike Halder. With the 3 of us pushing like we are, we know that we will have done everything possible come Sunday whatever the result.
” First official Free Practice kicks off at 11.34am Friday 19th October, with FP2 in the afternoon. The 2-part qualifying session is Saturday just before midday, with race 1 starting at 17.25 later that day. Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 16.00. As always, both races will be streamed live via YouTube and Facebook and be shown on free to air local TV.
